What serious? I barely have time to workout for 30 minutes. I’m too busy to workout all day!
Just wait, and you may change your mind and join the movement!
At Fit with Friends, when we suggest working out all day, we mean adding little bits of exercise, activity, and movement to your day. It doesn’t have to be hard and it doesn’t have to take long. Life is busy, but by adding movement to your day, you’ll never be too busy to workout.
Check out what a day in the life of an all day exerciser looks like.
6 am – Complete 30 Jumping Jacks and 30 pushups before getting in the shower. Starting your morning with a little bit of exercise not only wakes you up, but it also provides a feeling of accomplishment first thing in the morning. Plus when you jump right in the shower, you can get all that sweat off!
8 am – Take public transit, walk, or bike to work. Not only can you add movement and exercise to your day, but it will boost your mood, instead of being dragged down by traffic. If those aren’t options for you, try finding a parking spot further away from the entrance to work to add in a few extra steps in the morning.
10 am – Choose to take the stairs instead of an elevator whenever you can all day. Make the extra effort to ask where the stairs are. Even if they are hidden away, take the extra few steps and help conserve energy while you’re at it!
12 pm – Challenge a coworker to a plank competition, do a few squats while your food heats up in the microwave, or encourage your colleagues to join you for a stretch break. Coming together as a team just takes a few minutes and it adds accountability and improves office camaraderie.
2 pm – Take a mid afternoon walk when you need a break or are looking for some creativity. Walking sparks creativity and helps us solve problems. Plus moving around perks us up during the mid afternoon slump. You can also turn a meeting into a walking meeting and share these benefits with a co-worker!
7 pm – If you’re spending time with family, play an active Wii game together or do pushups and stretch whenever a commercial comes on TV. You can also take the time in the evening to complete chores or yard work, again, getting in those extra steps.
9 pm – Complete 50 squats while you’re brushing your teeth. By the time you’re done with the squats, you’ll be done brushing your teeth!
You’re never too busy to workout!
With just a few little changes you are exercising all day long! We don’t necessarily need to go to the gym just to get a workout in. Instead, we can add exercise into our already busy daily routine through multitasking our exercise and being productive in exercise. A few extra steps add up!
