David was the original member of Fit with Friends and actually the reason Fit with Friends even exists! He’s stuck with Fit with Friends for over a year and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere soon!
In the next few months, David is adding “awesome dad” to his already full resume of public health grad student, Georgia Department of Public Health employee, neighborhood mentor, and cool husband!
David summed up his exercise habits pre-Fit with Friends like this, “I ran my first 5K in 2011 and it was terrible! But three years later I ran a marathon!”
When he’s not training for a marathon, you can find David in the gym or at home working on his core! He loves feeling the burn of crunches, planks, supermans, and all that good stuff. His proudest Fit with Friends moment was doing last minute core exercises at 11:15 pm to complete the final minutes to earn the Core badge for his team!
Fit with Friends helps David stick with his healthy habits and stay consistent even though his days are very full. He says, “Even in crazier seasons of life (like right now!) when I’m not able to do anywhere near as much as I would like, Fit with Friends encourages me to keep pushing every week.”
David’s health tip for us is “don’t surround yourself with poor eating choices at home. I try not to even give myself the option of having high fat or sugar snacks sitting in my pantry!” He offers great advice from his busy life!
I’m speaking for all of us Fit with Friend-ites when I say not only do we love the points David brings to our teams, but we are also a big fan of the hilarious comments, pictures, and GIFs David shares with the Fit with Friends group! We can’t wait to cheer him on in his next marathon, though his grad school journey, and as he becomes a new dad!
